About the Author
Christopher Coughlin, PhD, NRP, is the Paramedic Program Director at the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care, which is part of the university’s Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Coughlin is a nationally certified EMS educator. In 2006, he became one of the first 850 nationally certified flight paramedics (FP-C) in the United States. He previously worked as a critical care flight paramedic in Phoenix, and served as the Department Chair of Public Safety Sciences at Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona, as well as the Paramedic Program Director at Contra Costa College in San Pablo, California.
Dr. Coughlin is also the author of REA’s bestselling EMTCrash Course.
He also has degrees in Paramedicine from Glendale Community College, Adult Education from Ottawa University, and Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He holds a doctorate in Educational Philosophy from Capella University.
